The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced that face-to-face learning will resume in nurseries, kindergartens, government and private schools and other educational centers in Qatar from Sunday, April 12. This decision has been taken according to the approved academic calendar.
Along with the start of face-to-face classes, online assessments will continue to replace the second semester mid-term exams in government schools. Officials clarified that these online exams will not interfere with face-to-face learning and are a good way to measure the quality of students’ learning. Meanwhile, exams in private schools will be held in accordance with the instructions and academic plans of their respective examination boards.
The ministry stated that the education sector in Qatar is fully equipped for both face-to-face classes and online learning, and that all necessary systems have been put in place to ensure a good learning environment. Changes in learning methods are being made with precise criteria. The ministry added that the safety of students and teachers is always a priority, and that it will assess the current situation and inform through official channels if any changes are necessary in the future.
