The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has announced that the 2026 Qatar Cup Football Tournament, which was scheduled to be held this year, has been postponed. The decision was made after discussions with the relevant authorities. According to the revised decision, the tournament will be held in the next 2026-2027 season.
The authorities had held discussions yesterday regarding the remaining matches of the current 2025-2026 season. Several unscheduled breaks in this season and Qatari clubs having to participate in other international competitions had affected the league matches. In addition, the QSL decided to change the current season’s match schedule and move the Qatar Cup to next season, taking into account the national team’s preparations and training for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
