The Qatar Meteorological Department (QMD) has issued a warning as rain continues in various parts of Qatar. Authorities said that there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in some places. The department warned those who go out to take special care. Visibility is also likely to decrease along with the rain in the southern parts of the country.
Key advice:
- Wind: Wind speed will be between 5 and 15 knots on land and at sea. However, it is possible to blow up to 25 knots during rain with thunderstorms.
- Sea level: Waves may rise to 1 to 3 feet in coastal areas and 2 to 4 feet in the bay. During periods of heavy rain, it is possible to rise to 5 feet and 8 feet respectively, so caution should be exercised.
- Visibility: Visibility will be between 3 and 8 kilometers on land and less than 2 kilometers in the southern parts.
Authorities advised beachgoers and motorists to pay attention to weather warnings.
