The Qatar Meteorological Department (QMD) has warned of extreme heat in Qatar this weekend. Temperatures may reach 39 degrees Celsius over the weekend. In addition, there is a possibility of strong winds and high waves at sea, the authorities said.
Weather forecast for the next few days:
- Thursday (May 21): Extreme heat will be experienced during the day and moderate weather at night. Temperatures will range between 28 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius.
- Friday (May 22): Strong winds and high waves are likely at sea by the evening. Although light dust storms are likely during the day, the weather will calm down at night. The temperature is forecast to be between 28 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius.
- Saturday: It will be hotter during the day. Light dust storms are also likely in some areas, the warning says. The temperature will be between 29 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius.
Wind speed will be between 6 and 20 knots on all these three days. It is possible that it will increase to 30 knots at times. Winds will blow from the northwest and northeast directions on Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the wind will be completely from the northwest direction.
Authorities have informed that the waves in the sea will rise from 2 to 8 feet during the weekend and at times it may reach 10 feet. Those who go to the sea should be careful.
