The Mosque Department under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has opened the new ‘Ummuhatul Mu’mineen’ (Mothers of the Believers) Mosque in Hazm Al-Markhiya for believers. The new mosque was built as part of the expansion of worship facilities in line with the country’s population growth and urban development. This mosque, which was endowed by prominent philanthropist Ghanim bin Saad Al Saad Al Kuwari, is spread over an area of 544 square meters. In addition to prayer facilities, it also has a residence for the mu’adh and modern amenities.

Built in the Islamic architectural style, this mosque has the capacity to accommodate 144 people (120 men and 24 women) praying at a time. In addition, facilities for performing ablution and a beautiful minaret have been arranged here. This construction was completed in accordance with the Ministry of Awqaf’s 2025-2030 strategic development plans and the ‘Qatar National Vision 2030’. In addition, a digital map facility is available on the ministry’s website to help the public easily find the locations of various mosques in the country, the officials said.
