The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoI) has clarified the procedures and criteria for obtaining a driving license in the country. The ministry shared this information through its social media page. According to the new guidelines, the main things that applicants need to follow to obtain a license are as follows:
Key requirements:
- Applicants must produce a valid ID Proof
- A passport-sized photograph
- Must undergo a medical examination to verify vision and general health
- Must have a valid Residence Permit
Age limit:
- 18 years: To apply for driving light vehicles (small vehicles), motorcycles and licenses for the differently-abled, the minimum age is 18 years.
- 21 years: To get a license for heavy vehicles, other large machinery and public transport (public transport vehicles).
Training and Test:
Applicants are required to attend an approved driving school and undergo training. After this, they must pass a theoretical and practical driving test to qualify for the license.
How to obtain a license?
Those who successfully complete the tests can obtain a license in two ways:
- They can visit the traffic office of the driving school they studied at and purchase it in person.
- They can also obtain it online through the Metrash app or through the official website of the Ministry of Interior.
Stating that driving without a valid license is a threat to the lives of other road users, the ministry warned everyone to strictly follow traffic rules.
