The number of road accidents in August 2024 was 3.2% lower than in July. In July, there were 602 instances, compared to 583 accidents in August.
But in August, there were more fatalities and significant mishaps. In August, 36 major accidents and 11 deaths were reported. 23 major accidents and 6 fatalities were reported as of July. In August, there were 2% fatal accidents, 6% serious accidents, and 9% minor accidents.

Violation of traffic rules
In August 2024, the number of traffic rule violations decreased by 8.6 percent. While 206,703 violations were reported in August, it was 226,219 in July. This is an increase of 18.4 percent as compared to August 2023. In 2023, there were only 174,544 violations.
