Ministry of Education eases admission procedures for students

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced new changes to make school admission procedures easier for students. These important decisions, which will come as a relief to students and parents, were announced at a special press conference attended by school principals and other officials in the country.

Time will be given to those on visit visas: Students arriving in Qatar on a visit visa will be given two months to complete their residency procedures. This can be extended by another two months if necessary.

  • Age relaxation: New students who do not meet the approved age limit may now also be admitted. This will be based on the students’ latest educational certificates. However, for this, they will have to pass the entrance exam conducted by the school.
  • Certificate attestation: Foreign students who arrive without a certificate attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be given two months to complete these procedures.
  • Benefits for students with disabilities: The ministry has increased the upper age limit for students with disabilities and learning disabilities to gain admission in schools.

The ministry has announced these exemptions as part of its efforts to create a more conducive learning environment for students.
