Qatar Airways has announced a ban on certain models of Anchor company power banks, citing passenger safety concerns. These models are banned in the cabin and in checked baggage due to overheating and fire risks.
The banned models include the A1647, A1652, A1681, A1689, A1257, and Power Core 10,000, which were recalled in June this year, and the A1642, A1647, and A1652, which were recalled in October last year.
The airline has urged passengers to ensure that they are not carrying any of the listed devices before travelling. Several airlines around the world have adopted similar restrictions due to safety risks associated with lithium-ion batteries.
