The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the opening of a new technical secondary school for girls in Al Shamal for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The Qatar Technical Secondary School for Girls, Al Shamal, aims to provide female students with more opportunities to study technical and vocational subjects. The school will prepare students for future careers by offering classroom lessons and practical training.
In the first year, the school will admit up to 40 students in the 10th grade. There will be two main programs: Information Technology and Laboratory Technician Training, which will be taught in addition to regular academic subjects.
Registration is now open through the ministry’s “Ma’aref” portal. Priority will be given to Qatari girls, followed by daughters of Qatari mothers, GCC nationals, and girls born and residing in Qatar.
All students must meet academic and health requirements, including passing an entrance exam, interviewing, and submitting a medical report.
The school is part of the ministry’s plan to expand technical education across the country, especially in the northern region. Currently, there are eight specialized schools in Qatar, three of which are for girls.
