Qatar Eid Al Adha 2025 holidays explained: What employees need to know

Eid al-Adha is an important Islamic festival celebrated in Qatar. Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025. The Qatari government has announced official holidays to mark the occasion.

Public sector holidays

Government offices, ministries, and public institutions will be closed from Thursday, June 5, 2025, to Monday, June 9, 2025. Employees are expected to return to work on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Private sector holidays

The Ministry of Labor has announced three days of paid leave for private sector employees. It has not been clarified what these holidays are. The announcement also states that employees who are required to work during the holiday are entitled to overtime pay under Article 74 of the Labor Law.

Financial Institutions

Banks and financial institutions, including the Qatar Central Bank and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, will be closed from Thursday, June 5, 2025, to Monday, June 9, 2025. Operations will resume on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
