Chapati or poori with karak
Firstly the most popular street food in Qatar is Poori or chapati which are flatbreads with a crispy crust. This is a dish similar to the Indian paratha. These are served as rolls filled with different fillings like cheese and mince-meat, honey and Nutella. They are usually served with karak tea – a mixture of black tea, milk, sugar and cardamom, and sometimes saffron and ginger.

Shawarma
Shawarma is not only one of the most common street foods in all Middle Eastern Countries but also a famous delicacy around the world. These are made of boneless strips of chicken or beef which are stacked and grilled on a rotating skewer. With the meat the shawarma contains sauce, pickles and often, fries wrapped in bread. It is featured on most Middle Eastern menus, and is often served in bite size pieces as an appetizer or deconstructed on a platter.
Where to Eat : You can enjoy shawarma at many places around the corner but Mashawi Al Arabi in Old Airport area or Jabal Lebnan in Al Nasr Street is the recommended ones.
Falafel
Falafel is a popular vegan snack which is popular not only in Qatar but all over the world. These come in little crunchy deep-fried balls or round flat cutlets, made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. They are usually mixed in with garlic, parsley, coriander and tahini. Additionally these fried dumplings are usually served on their own or in pita pockets along with salad and pickles.

Ragag (crepes)
Ragag is a paper-thin crepe which is a popular snack. They have a crispy, wafer-like texture, with toppings such as cheese, eggs, honey and mahyawa (a thick fish paste) that can be spread on top while the bread cooks.

Samboosa or samosa
Similar to South Asian samosa, Samboosa is smaller, with thin crusts stuffed with mincemeat, spinach, or cheese. These are usually served with a variety of chutneys as an accompaniment to evening tea or as a starter.

Luqaimat
Lastly this is a sweet Arabian delicacy. Luqaimats are sweet dumplings similar to donut holes. Soaked in sugar syrup and flavoured with cardamom and saffron, these hard-crusted dumplings have a warm gooey centre.
