Qatar is renovating public beaches to make them more accessible to visitors. The Ministry of Municipality, in collaboration with Ashghal, is implementing a national plan to improve 18 beaches across the country. The first phase of the renovation includes eight beaches, including Simaisma, Al Wakrah and Sealine, with better facilities to boost local tourism and quality of life.
The new improvements include shaded areas, seating areas and family-friendly areas. At Al Wakrah Beach, 200 umbrellas (some for the disabled), 300 covered seats and safe playgrounds have been added. There are also areas for food stalls, beautiful walkways and more trees for shade and beauty. The ministry is running advertisements to promote beach activities and remind visitors to stay safe in the heat.
Safety and hygiene are the top priorities. More shaded areas, first aid services, and 24/7 cleaning teams have been added. Eco-friendly upgrades such as solar-powered lights and green spaces have been included to make the beaches more enjoyable for everyone.
