On December 20, 2025, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment announced the arrival of two Asian elephants to Qatar as a diplomatic gift from Nepal, highlighting the strong bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries. The ministry said the gift is of national, cultural and tourism importance to both countries.

A seven-year-old female named Rudra Kali weighing 1,200 kilograms and a six-year-old male named Khagendra Prasad weighing 1,190 kilograms were born at the Elephant Breeding Training Center in Sauraha, Chitwan National Park. They can now be visited by the public at Al Khor Park, and tickets are available via the ministry’s website or the OUN app.
