The Qatar Cultural Village Foundation is organizing free space cinema screenings at Al Turaiya Planetarium (Building 41) in August. These screenings will be held on Tuesdays, August 11, 18 and 25. They will include various cosmological entertainment and knowledge shows such as ‘The Perfect Little Planet’, ‘The Great Solar System Adventure’, ‘Stars’ and ‘Polaris 3D’. Available in English and Arabic, these shows are suitable for all ages. Although admission is free, tickets must be booked in advance online via the Katara website as seats are limited. Tickets will be available on the website one day before each screening date.

The 2,240-square-meter Al Turaiya Planetarium is equipped with state-of-the-art digital technologies. The 22-meter dome screen and digital projectors provide a great space viewing experience for the audience. The planetarium takes its name from the Arabic name for the Pleiades or Seven Sisters constellation, which is very important in Arab astronomical tradition. Visitors are advised to arrive at least half an hour before the show to enter this informative center for children and adults alike.
