Qatar has established the Doha International Center for Strategy and Leadership in Transplantation to promote organ donation and transplantation worldwide.
The center is a collaborative initiative by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and leading international organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), to address global challenges in the field of organ donation and transplantation.
The announcement was made during an event honoring 139 organ donors and recipients, as well as paying tribute to 18 deceased donors.
“Qatar’s organ donation and transplantation programs have transformed the lives of thousands since their inception. We take pride in the fact that our programs are considered models to be emulated by other countries. Today, we are marking another significant milestone by launching the Doha International Center for Strategy and Leadership in Transplantation. Through this center, we aim to support the development of transplantation programs worldwide, sharing Qatar’s knowledge and experience with other nations,” said HMC’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Abdulla Al Ansari.
