The Qatar Meteorological Department (QMD) has announced that strong northwesterly winds are expected in Qatar over the upcoming weekend (June 5 and 6). The winds are likely to turn into strong dust storms in some areas, which could significantly reduce visibility.

Authorities have advised drivers and the public to be vigilant as the dust storms may affect public life and traffic. The Department has also stated that the existing sea travel bans and warnings in coastal areas will remain in place as the sea is likely to be rough these days.
