Temperatures in Qatar to hit 40 degrees Celsius over the weekend

The Qatar Meteorology Department has warned that strong winds and high waves are likely to prevail in Qatar throughout this weekend. The country will generally experience extreme heat from Thursday to Saturday. The Meteorology Department has strictly advised fishermen, seafarers and tourists to refrain from maritime activities as waves at sea are likely to rise up to ten feet.

According to the weather report, extreme heat is likely to prevail during the day on Thursday, May 7, with strong winds at speeds of up to 25 knots at times. On Friday, May 8, temperatures will rise up to 40 degrees Celsius and very strong northwesterly winds will blow at speeds of up to 30 knots. On Saturday, May 9, there is a possibility of light dust storms and winds of up to 17 knots along with hot weather. Officials say that waves in the sea during these three days will generally range from 3 to 8 feet, and sometimes up to 10 feet.
