Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced discounts on over 1,000 daily necessities in Qatar. The scheme is being implemented in collaboration with major shopping malls and retail outlets in the country. The move aims to make food and non-food products that are usually in high demand during Ramadan available to the public at reduced prices.
- Items included: Food items such as flour, sugar, pasta, chicken, oil, and milk, as well as essential items such as paper towels, detergents, and washing powders, are on the list.
- Available locations: The discounts will be available at all major consumer complexes in the country. A detailed list of items has been published on the ministry’s website and social media accounts.
- Strict verification: The ministry has instructed that the announced prices should not be changed until the end of the month of Ramadan. Authorities warned that strict inspections will be carried out in the market to prevent price hikes and action will be taken against violators.
