Qatar has once again secured its position as one of the richest countries in the world, ranking sixth globally in the Forbes India 2025 Richest Countries list. Qatar recorded a GDP-PPP per capita of $122,283.2 per capita adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP). Qatar ranks alongside top countries like Liechtenstein, Singapore, Luxembourg, Ireland and Macao SAR.
The strong ranking reflects Qatar’s energy-based economy, helped by its vast natural gas reserves, leadership in liquefied natural gas exports and relatively small population. While hydrocarbons remain the backbone of national income, diversification efforts under the National Development Strategy along with investments in infrastructure, tourism, finance and human capital strengthen economic resilience and quality of life and translate national wealth into broader social and development benefits.
