The annual Geminids Festival will take place from December 13 to 14, 2025, when astronomy enthusiasts gather at the Meteor Shower Viewpoint in the sky of Al Kharara. The free event, which runs from 8pm to 4am, promises a spectacular display of up to 60 stars per hour during the Geminids, often hailed as the “king of meteor showers.” Organizers encourage families, friends and stargazers of all ages to come experience the rare celestial spectacle in the tranquil desert.

While the event is free, advance registration is required, ensuring attendees receive detailed guidance for a safe and enjoyable night of stargazing. The festival aims to combine science, wonder and community.
