Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced new services to support disabled and elderly people. The new services will make it easier for these groups to access banks and ATMs. All bank branches will soon have ramps and automatic doors to help people move around safely.
Some staff will be trained in basic sign language, and a virtual interpreter may be used if necessary. In addition, 15% of ATMs will be equipped with dedicated Braille and audio headsets, and there will be clear signs showing which machines are suitable for different needs. The steps aim to ensure easy, secure and private access to banking services. Banks have been given five months to implement these services.
