The 3rd Pakistani Mango Exhibition will begin on Thursday, July 9 at Souq Waqif in Qatar. The fair, jointly organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office (PEO) and the Embassy of Pakistan, will be held from 4 pm to 10 pm at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif until July 18. With the participation of more than 30 Pakistani companies and about 30 restaurants, this year’s fair will feature world-famous varieties of Pakistani mangoes such as Sindri, Chaunsa and Anwar Ratol, as well as other seasonal fruits such as apricots and peaches.
The huge success of the fair, which attracted more than 100,000 visitors last year and sold more than 228 tonnes of mangoes, has prompted the organizers to make it an annual event. A large, fully refrigerated tent measuring 100 meters long and 30 meters wide has been set up for visitors and traders. More than just a market, this fair is a great opportunity to enjoy various mango dishes and desserts prepared by famous chefs and learn about Pakistan’s unique agricultural and food culture, said General Supervisor Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi.
