The Ministry of Labor announced that a midday work ban until October 1 will come into effect from tomorrow (June 1) to ensure the safety of workers in Qatar in the face of the harsh summer. This measure is in accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 17 of 2021 to prevent sunstroke and health problems caused by extreme heat.
According to the new order, all types of work in open areas will be restricted from June 1 to September 15. A complete ban has been imposed on work that involves direct exposure to the sun from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This decision is being implemented as part of Qatar’s national plans to ensure the safety of workers and increase safety in workplaces during the summer. The ministry stated that strict legal action will be taken against companies that employ workers in violation of the law, and special squads have been assigned for inspections.
