Souq Waqif gears up for international honey exhibition

The 7th Souq Waqif International Honey Exhibition, which will be held at Eastern Square from January 22 to 31, 2026, will bring together nearly 100 pavilions featuring local and international honey producers. The event offers a wide range of honey varieties in different grades and price ranges. Popular varieties such as Sidr, Manuka and stingless bee honey will also be on display, along with wax, pollen and other bee-related products. This year’s edition will include an on-site honey-testing laboratory to check quality and a specialist doctor available to treat bee stings, organisers say.

More than just a marketing hub, the exhibition aims to educate visitors on how the quality of honey is shaped by floral source and post-harvest handling. The event also highlights the cultural significance of honey, which has long been valued as a natural sweetener due to its traditional healing properties, including references in the Quran and centuries-old Arab home remedies.
