Qatar Calendar House announced on Thursday the start of ‘Al-Shabbat’ season, known as the coldest winter season in the country. The season, which will last for 26 days from January 16, 2026, is expected to see a significant drop in temperatures and dry, cold winds across Qatar. Several areas, including Doha, received rain during the day.
Meanwhile, the Qatar Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for the next three days, starting January 15, 2026. The public has been advised to take precautions as winter conditions intensify across Qatar during the Al-Shabbat period.
