According to the latest monthly weather update from the Qatar Meteorological Department (QMD), Qatar’s winter officially begins in December with the arrival of frontal systems coming from Europe. The department reports that the average temperature for the month will be 19.8°C.

The QMD noted that weather conditions often become unstable before each frontal passage, which is usually followed by strong northwesterly winds. The update also highlighted that December marks the start of the Shamal wind season, which is a major winter weather pattern for the region.
