Qatar’s Hamad Port has set a new Guinness World Record for completing the world’s largest mangrove rehabilitation project. The project involved the transplanting and replanting of more than 36,000 mangrove trees and thousands of coral reefs and seagrass beds using innovative ecological methods to protect marine life and coastal ecosystems.
The achievement reflects the port’s strong commitment to sustainability and supports Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on balancing economic growth and environmental protection, said Mwani Qatar. The milestone, which follows Hamad Port’s previous Guinness World Record for the construction of the world’s deepest artificial basin, reinforces its reputation as one of the most innovative and environmentally friendly ports globally.
