In an interview with Qatar TV on October 7, 2025, H.E. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, clarified that Friday will not be a working day, addressing online rumors. He said that recent amendments to the Civil Human Resources Law aim to modernize public sector jobs, improve performance, support innovation, and enhance work-life balance.
The reforms include faster promotions, performance bonuses, higher allowances, temporary contracts, part-time work for students, extended maternity leave, remote work for pregnant employees, increased emergency leave, and marital incentives. The changes are designed to make government work more flexible, efficient, and rewarding for employees, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
