Railway project connecting the GCC is set to be completed by December 2030.

The Gulf Railway Authority has confirmed that Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries are working together to complete the Gulf Railway project by December 2030.

The railway will connect all six GCC countries with a 2,117-kilometer network, said Director-General Engineer Mohammed bin Fahd Al Shabrami, speaking at the Global Rail 2025 exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

The project will connect ports and logistics centers, facilitating trade and travel across the region. Passenger trains will run at speeds of more than 200 kilometers per hour, while freight trains will run at speeds of 80–120 kilometers per hour. Officials say the project will strengthen regional connectivity, support the economy and promote sustainable development.
