The Qatar Meteorological Department (QMD) says September will be a month of high humidity and mild temperatures as the country moves into autumn. Clouds are expected to increase, with the chance of rain increasing, and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon.
Winds will be mostly easterly this month, with light to moderate winds. The average temperature is expected to be around 33.1°C. The lowest temperature ever recorded in September was 20.3°C in 1964, while the highest temperature was 46.2°C in 2001.
The rising of the Suhail star last week signaled the start of the Suhail season in Qatar and the Gulf region. This period is known for its cool nights, short days, the end of the scorching summer heat, and the chance of rain is high.
