The Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO), World Triathlon and the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation have jointly announced that Lusail City will host the Qatar T100 World Championship Finals, to be held from December 10 to 13, 2025.
The championships will include a 2km swim in the Arabian Gulf, an 80km cycle through Lusail’s landmark streets and an 18km run through Lusail Plaza and Boulevard. The event will showcase the city’s beaches, Lusail Stadium and other world-class venues.
The Qatar T100 is the finale of the T100 Triathlon World Tour season, where the world’s best male and female athletes compete for the World Championship title.
In addition to the professional races, other events will be held for visitors:
- December 10: 5k/1km fun run for visitors
- December 11: Opening of the Fan Village with food, entertainment and an expo
- December 12: Professional World Championship races
- December 13: Amateur races – T100 Age Group World Championship, 100km Open Race and Sprint Triathlon
The men’s and women’s ranking points will be included in the Qatar Finals, which will be important in determining the men’s and women’s rankings. Stars like Taylor Knibb and Maarten van Reel are expected to lead the elite field. Qatar continues to strengthen its reputation as a global sporting hub by hosting the T100 Triathlon World Championships alongside events like the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix and the AFC Asian Cup.
