Qatar has retained its 47th place globally in the latest Henley Passport Index, reasserting its status as the second most powerful passport in the Middle East behind the United Arab Emirates. The quarterly report, released on July 22, ranks 199 passports based on the number of countries they can enter without a prior visa. Qatari passport holders can currently enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 112 out of 227 destinations.

Global Rankings:
Singapore leads the index with access to 193 countries. Japan and South Korea are in second place with 190 destinations. India recorded its biggest jump ever, rising 8 places to 77th (59 countries). The US dropped to 10th place (182 destinations), its lowest ranking in 20 years. The UK dropped to 6th place (186 destinations). At the bottom, the countries with the least travel freedom are Afghanistan (99th place), Syria (98th place), and Iraq (97th place).
