The General Authority of Customs in Qatar has launched a new mobile app called Masad Aljomroq, which allows users to participate in online auctions of various items, including cars, electronics, furniture, jewelry, and clothing – all at relatively low starting prices.
The app is now available in app stores. Its aim is to make customs auctions more transparent and accessible to the public.
To join the auction, users must first create an account and agree to the platform’s terms and conditions. The authority urged all users to use the app responsibly and only participate in auctions that they are legally able to.
How to register:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must hold a valid driving license
- Must fill out the registration form accurately
- Must agree to the platform’s terms and conditions
Qatar Customs reserves the right to reject or cancel any registration. Even after registering, users must go through a verification process to fully activate their account. Until then, access may be temporarily restricted.
Rules
To use most of the app’s features:
- Users must have an individual or company account
- Provide accurate personal details such as name, ID number, address, age, and gender
- Users cannot share or transfer their accounts
- Providing false or fabricated information such as fake IDs or bank details may result in legal action
- Only one account is allowed per person
- Login details must be kept secure at all times
Refund and item collection policy
Auction winners have seven days from the time the goods arrive (docking date) to collect their items. If they fail to do so and do not receive an official extension from the auction committee, the entire amount paid may be forfeited.
Buyers are not entitled to compensation in the following cases:
- If the purchased item has defects that may be noticed during the initial inspection
- If the entry fee is lost due to specific platform policies
