Doha has set a new fitness record with the inauguration of The Torch, the world’s highest indoor gym in Doha. The gym is located on the 50th floor of a building at a height of 247 meters above the ground.
Guinness World Records official Kansi El-Defrawi confirmed the record on Wednesday. She handed over the certificate to Abdullah Nasse Al-Naimi, acting CEO of the Aspire Zone Foundation, and Wael Al-Sherif, area general manager of The Torch Doha. It is a new record with no previous records. El-Defrawi said that all rules and standards for setting the record were met.
The gym is part of The Torch Club, a private fitness center that combines modern equipment with Qatari hospitality. Spread over the 50th and 51st floors, it offers panoramic views of Doha, Aspire Zone, Khalifa International Stadium and Aspire Dome. Torch Doha is a famous building in the shape of the Olympic torch. Built for the 2006 Asian Games, it was later converted into a luxury hotel. It also houses the world’s largest 360-degree external screen, installed ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The new gym, offering high-tech fitness services using Technogym equipment, will add to the hotel’s extensive luxury experience.
