The Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has approved the Cabinet’s decision on official holidays for government ministries, agencies and public institutions in Qatar.
The decision, published in the Official Gazette, outlines the official holidays:
- Eid al-Fitr: from the 28th day of Ramadan to the end of the 4th day of Shawwal
- Eid al-Adha: from the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah to the end of the 13th day
- Qatar National Day: December 18
The report also explains that if there is a working day between two holidays, it will be considered a holiday. In addition, any weekend that falls between or between holidays will be included as part of the official holiday. The decision ensures a clear and extended holiday schedule for government and public sector employees across the country.
