Qatar scores above world average in 2025 Global Philanthropy Environment Index

Qatar has made significant progress in the 2025 Global Philanthropy Environment Index (GPEI), the Charitable Activities Regulatory Authority (RACA) has announced.

The report, prepared by the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, shows that Qatar has worked hard to improve philanthropy and giving in the country. Qatar’s score has risen significantly over the past seven years, showing strong changes. The country’s score is now higher than the global average of 3.49, and is one of the best in the Arab world.

Qatar’s score was 2.07 in 2018, then 2.58 in 2022, and now it is 3.61 in 2025. This is the largest increase of all countries in the report.
