As part of digital transformation, the Ministry of Municipality has added 17 new agriculture-related services on the ‘Aun’ app. This was done by the Department of Information Systems, working in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Affairs. The aim is to make services faster, easier and better using digital technology.
The app provides permissions for the following services:
- Import fertilizers and soil boosters
- Import bees and insects that help control pests
- Import trees, plants, vegetables, fruits and flowers
- Import natural wood and plant parts
- Import animal feed (green and dry)
- Import seeds and seedlings
- Import special-purpose fertilizers (with safety approval)
- Import palm trees
- Import pesticides
- Inspect imported agricultural products
- Sell palm shoots
- Move porta-cabins
- Obtain productivity certificates
- Hire farm workers
- Approve Kahramma (utility) services
Digital transformation began in 2023, which includes the ministry’s website, its own app and smart city devices. They are improving the way services work using AI and other new technologies.
Different government departments can now share information. This means people don’t have to upload the same documents to every application. This whole project is helping to build better cities and better services for everyone by upgrading the technology behind them.
