The Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Qatar Sports for All Federation, has announced the first Aspire Beach Sports Festival. The fest will be held at Aspire Park from April 20 to 26.
The festival will include three beach sports:
- Beach Soccer (organised by the Qatar Football Association)
- Beach Volleyball (organised by the Qatar Volleyball Association)
- Beach Tennis (organised by the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation)
The aim of the fest is to encourage people to get involved in sports and stay active. Competitions will be held every day from 4pm to 9pm. Only male teams (over 18 years old) can participate, and the games are governed by sports federations.
Aspire Zone has hosted beach sports in the past. The first was the Aspire Beach Volleyball Tournament in 2015, a fun event for local players to compete and win in front of their community. Those interested in joining the festival can register on the Aspire Zone website: www.aspirezone.qa
