Home Healthcare Service (HHCS) under Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has been awarded the Gold Certification for Excellence in Person-Centred Care (PCC) by Planetary International, one of 116 healthcare organizations worldwide.
The award is the highest achievement in person-centred care. Person-centred care prioritizes the active participation of patients and their families throughout the healthcare process, with an emphasis on partnership, compassion, transparency, inclusion and quality.
HHCS provides home care to Qataris and expatriates of all ages. Currently, HHCS serves approximately 2,700 patients across Qatar daily through its centers in Al Khor, Al Wakra, Landmark and Muaither, and its headquarters in Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City. Home Care is Provided.
HHCS has undertaken notable initiatives in advancing person-centered care, most notably their 16 Wishes program, designed in collaboration with an advisory committee of patients and families. The initiative includes key initiatives such as 24/7 access and coverage, caregiver competency training, physician assignment for dermatology and dental services, early discharge, and a home palliative care program.
