The national initiative to support local production and subsidize red meat during Ramadan has succeeded in stabilizing meat prices in Qatar.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has increased the availability of local sheep this year, ensuring that citizens can purchase subsidized meat at reasonable prices. The initiative, which will last until the end of Ramadan, allows citizens to purchase sheep at Widam outlets across the country.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has also launched the annual Ramadan Discount Consumer Goods Initiative, which offers discounts on more than 1,000 essential items.

The initiative covers a range of essential products, including food items such as flour, sugar, rice, pasta, chicken, cooking oil, and milk, as well as non-food items such as tissues, aluminum foil, and household items that are in high demand during the holy month.
