Web Summit Qatar 2025 inaugurated by PM

The country’s largest technology event, Web Summit Qatar 2025, was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. During his keynote address, he stressed Qatar’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship by implementing regulatory reforms and creating economic opportunities for the private sector.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Qatar’s goal of supporting startups, with the aim of establishing the country as a leading regional hub for industrial entrepreneurship. He noted that strategic efforts have led to a significant jump in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index, which has advanced 11 places in a year.

Web Summit Qatar 2025 aims to strengthen Qatar’s role as a bridge between East and West by fostering partnerships and innovations to address global challenges. The event was attended by over 25,000 attendees from 124 countries, over 1,520 startups, over 600 investors and 380 speakers.

The summit will feature panel discussions with leading global entrepreneurs, including Alexander Wang of Scale AI and Alexis Ohanian of Reddit. It will also include workshops discussing technological advancements and digital market trends.

It also announced the expansion of the Startup Qatar initiative, a platform that provides information and support to startups. Since its launch last year, it has received over 2,000 applications from 60 countries.
