Doha is hosting the world’s first all-electric boat race, the UIM E1 World Championship, at The Pearl Island on February 21 and 22. The event, dubbed the Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP, is one of the key events in the 2025 race events. It will elevate Qatar as a major racing destination in the Middle East.
As the main sponsor, Visit Qatar is promoting the country as a top sports tourism destination. Qatar has already hosted major events such as the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup 2023, and is now adding exciting events like E1 to its lineup.
E1 focuses on eco-friendly boat racing using electric technology. Fans can enjoy fast-paced racing while learning about sustainable marine innovations. The Doha Race is one of eight global stops. Spectators can also enjoy the Acceleration Festival, which features live music, fun activities for kids, exclusive merchandise and opportunities to win prizes.
