The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that the main works of the first phase of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Al Foroush and Al Kharaitiyat have been completed, as part of Ashghal’s plan to develop infrastructure. The project includes areas located north of Riffa Street, west of Hazm Al Themaid Street Road, and west of Al Mazrouah Road.
Engineer Rashed Al-Zeyara, Head of Doha City Division at Ashghal Roads Projects Department, said that the first phase will significantly improve the serviceability of the 411 plots in the area and will help to accommodate future population growth by developing infrastructure such as streets, drainage networks, stormwater drainage, etc.
The first phase of the Al Faroush and Al Qaraitiyat project includes the construction of a 17.8km stretch of road, the installation of 655 road lights, and road safety elements. It also includes the development of other infrastructure.
The remaining works, which include the installation of signboards and lighting posts on some streets and the implementation of some work related to electrical cables, are currently being completed. In addition to the need to coordinate with several state institutions to complete the infrastructure development work, excavations will need to be carried out to a depth of approximately 22 meters from the ground, which will also require increased worker safety procedures.
