The Ministry of Municipality in Qatar inaugurated Hazm Al Markhiya Park on Thursday.

Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani, Assistant Undersecretary and Engineer for Public Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality, said that the park is the result of the ministry’s efforts to provide world-class entertainment centers for children and families in Qatar.

He said that it is a great addition to the entertainment facilities in Al Markhiya and will enhance services for residents there. He said that it helps visitors enjoy recreational activities in a safe environment and thereby improve their quality of life.

The park is spread over a total area of 24,000 square meters. The park has a 671-meter long running track and a walking path extending over 585 meters. It also has an outdoor fitness area of 85 square meters for physical exercises. The scenic park area is home to 273 native trees and 421 shrubs.

There is also a 687-meter long cycling path to ensure a safe environment for cycling enthusiasts. There is also a 454-square-meter playground for children under the age of five and children between the ages of six and twelve.
