The third Qatar Kite Festival kicked off at the Old Doha Port on Sunday. As kites with beautiful colors fly in the sky, various events that attract the audience are also a part of it.
The festival, which runs until January 25, is being organized by Visit Qatar. The celebrations, which began on the Sealine on January 16, began at Sheraton Park and will culminate at its grandest venue, the Old Doha Port.
More than 60 professional kite flyers from different countries of the world are part of the Kite Festival. Teams from Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, the US, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tunisia, and China are participating in the festival.
The choice of this year’s venue at the Old Doha Port adds even more charm to the festival. In 2022, the Old Doha Port, which was renovated as part of Qatar’s FIFA World Cup preparations, became a major hub for recreation, including the Grand Terminal.
