The doha municipality has acquired its first electric car to cut emissions. This car will be used to carry out inspection and control work in partnership with the private sector.
This goes conjointly with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and to achieve the goals of sustainable development and the strategy of the Ministry of Municipality 2024-2030. The municipality plans to expand the use of electric vehicles in order to transform Doha into a global model for sustainable smart cities.
Electric vehicles have many benefits. Firstly it has zero emissions compared to gasoline and diesel car emissions which are harmful pollutants. Those emissions contribute to climate change and smog. Additionally electric vehicles are much quieter than gas cars.
