The Ministry of Environment is creating awareness on social media by promoting eco-friendly and safe ways of camping during the winter camping season (MoECC).
In a post, the Ministry informed the people that eco-friendly camping is not only about disposing of waste materials, but also protecting the environment by all means. The Ministry noted that responsible camping means protect nature from the use of soaps that dissolve in the soil.
The ministry mentioned 24 camping centres which are eco-friendly services and are located in forest areas and coastal areas. In addition, the Sealine commercial area was opened for winter camping.
The ministry has directed to check vehicles properly while camping and build camps at a distance from farms and villages. The ministry added that the installation of dirty water reservoirs in coastal camps should be avoided and safety measures should be taken to prevent the spread of fire.
The ministry urged people to engage in eco-friendly camping activities and preserve the natural beauty for future generations.
