Qatar were knocked out of the 26th Arab Gulf Cup after a 1-1 draw against hosts Kuwait in the last match of the group stage at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait on Friday.

The victory over Kuwait was Qatar’s only route to the semi-finals. Qatar were eliminated from the Arab Gulf Cup after the match ended in a draw.

Kuwait took the lead in the 74th minute through Mohammed Daham. Mohammed Muntari scored the equaliser for Qatar in the last minute of stoppage time but failed to score the winning goal.

Kuwait finished second in the group with 5 points, while Oman beat UAE 1-1 to qualify for the semi-finals.
