The final match of the Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024, which was eagerly awaited by the fans, was held yesterday at the Lusail Stadium in Doha. Real Madrid beat Mexico 3-0. More than 67,000 fans had gathered at the stadium to watch the final.
The tournament saw the continental club champions compete passionately for the title of the best club in the world. The final stage of the competition, held in Doha from 11 to 18 December, saw six clubs compete for three trophies. The matches were played at the 90-000 capacity Lusail Stadium and the 40-000 capacity 97 Stadium.
CF Pachuca beat Botafogo and Al Ahly SC 94 to win the FIFA Derby of the Americas Qatar 2024 and the FIFA Challenger Cup Qatar 2024.
This year’s finals will be held at the same two iconic venues that hosted FIFA in 2022. A number of cultural events were also staged before the match at the Stadium Fan Zone to mark the anniversary of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 held at the same venue.
